Dr. Matt Downen was born and raised in McLeansboror, Illinois. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kansas in Wichita. He has been a practicing physician since his graduation in 2016 when he joined Premier Hospitalists of Kansas as a certified American Board of Family Medicine Hospitalist. . His specialties are in Critical Care Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Downen is passionate in contributing in the non-profit organization, Serve Haiti, where he serves as the Medical Director. When he is not practicing medicine he enjoys spencing time with his wife, Alyssa, daughter and their two rescue dogs.
