Palliative Care & Hospice
Compassionate care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life
At Premier Hospitalists of Kansas, our Palliative Care and Hospice Services are dedicated to supporting patients and families facing serious or life-limiting illnesses. Our goal is to ensure that every patient receives care aligned with their goals, values, and needs—addressing not only physical symptoms but also emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being.
Palliative Care
Our Palliative Care program focuses on enhancing quality of life for patients at any stage of serious illness—whether they are pursuing curative treatment or transitioning toward comfort-focused care. Through collaboration among physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers, we deliver a holistic approach that prioritizes comfort, clarity, and support.

Our palliative care team works closely with patients, families, and referring providers to:
-
Manage pain and symptoms associated with chronic or advanced illnesses
-
Provide emotional and psychological support for patients and families
-
Facilitate communication about goals of care and treatment preferences
-
Coordinate care across hospital, post-acute, and home settings
-
Support informed decision-making through education and compassionate guidance

By focusing on relief of symptoms and stress, our Palliative Care program helps patients live as fully and comfortably as possible—no matter their diagnosis or stage of illness.
Hospice Care
When a patient’s condition progresses beyond curative treatment, our Hospice Care team focuses on ensuring comfort, peace, and dignity during life’s final stages.
